Ballancer®Pro

Ballancer®Pro …Miracle Suit?

I am a huge fan of anything that helps with lymphatic drainage.  It is a necessary process in our body that, to oversimplify, assists in carrying waste from our cells, controls fluid retention and increases our immunity.  When our lymphatic system isn’t working properly, this fluid builds up and can, at the very least and most benign, cause us to look puffy but can also lead to more serious problems such as joint pain, arthritis, frequent infections and viruses, lymphedema and lymphoma.

For me, lymphatic drainage is a part of my regular self-care.  Whether that is my frequent exercise,  a hot and cold shower, a sauna, some foam rolling, dry brushing, a massage, endermologie, a detox bath or my newest addition to the lymphatic drainage arsenal – compression therapy with the Ballancer®Pro.

While the Ballancer®Pro is new to me and everyone else in the US, it has been available in Europe for over 40 years.  Now FDA approved in the US, the company claims that it is ideal for beauty, wellness, cellulite reduction, muscle recovery time, surgical recovery time, body contouring, weight reduction, lymphatic drainage, and the list goes on.  So obviously, I had to try this out for myself.

I’m not going to lie, the set up looks a little awkward to say the least, but don’t let the circus pants scare you, this machine will blow your mind.  There are pants and a jacket for the Ballancer®Pro that treat different areas of the lymphatic system and are worn at separate times.  For my first treatment at the Jannae Institute, I took off my pants, put on hygienic garments and then climbed into some long striped pants that I was zipped into.  After that, I laid down and relaxed as the 24 chambers of the Ballancer®Pro bottoms inflated with perfect precision.  99% of the time, I feel that human touch is the best, but this is an exception to the rule.  I’ve had many lymphatic drainage massages and none of them were as effective as this treatment and it was also surprisingly relaxing.  It felt great and I could immediately feel improved circulation in my legs and feet.

Clearly I was going to have to give the jacket a whirl as well.  The jacket also requires it’s own hygienic garment and zips up easily.  Once the jacket started inflating, I felt a little like Randy,  the little the boy from A Christmas Story, in his snow suit, arms extended and unable to move.  Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t unpleasant at all, in fact it was incredibly relaxing, even more so than the pants.  I was told that the jacket was especially helpful for contouring the back and waist and assisting in draining excess fluid from the face and I saw all of those results immediately.

After my treatments, I could definitely see a difference in my body circumference, muscle definition and also lost almost 5 pounds with just one treatment.  I am not sure how typical my results were compared to most others, but I was beyond sold.  I’ve already been back to the Jannae Institute in Newport Beach for more treatments and can’t wait to go back again.  Speaking of the Jannae Institute, it is a treasure trove of wellness in Newport Beach and the only Orange County location that currently has the Ballancer®Pro (keep an eye out for more on the Jannae Institute in another post).

For me, this was absolutely a miracle suit and I can’t wait to try it again.  I’m wishing that I could have one at home to use everyday.  Let me know if you’ve tried the Ballancer®Pro and what you thought!
